Going Back in Time [Vlog]

  1. I really really like this vlog. I appreciate writing down a to-do list. I've tried several different apps and online services, but they all just seem to "busy" and overly complicated for me. You can't just write things down. You have to enter the item name, and then a date and a time and if it's recurring and if you want an alarm and if you want a reminder etc... Too much time.

I DO use google calendar from my cellphone, so I can send it a text when I see something cool while I'm out and about it, and it sinks right to my thunderbird profile and these events then show up right next to my email.

For everything else, I think that google calendar is not that useful. My personal case is when I was teaching English in Korea, I was given a monthly schedule broken down into periods of each day, per class, of what I was supposed to teach. I found this all very overwhelming and eventually entered it all into google calendar so I could view one day at a time. When all was said and done, I got the feeling that, though it may have impressed my coworkers (ooh look how organized he is!) and looked pretty, it really looked better than it performed. Spending time on this made me FEEL like I was getting something done when in actuality there was already a schedule in front of me which would have been written into a planner just as easily.

  2. I really couldn't have said that any better myself. I feel the exact same way. Where did you teach English in Korea?? I was in Bundang at first, and then moved into Seoul. We barely had working computers much less the ability to use Google Calendar! haha

  3. I am planner all the way...so much easier to carry around, whip out when I need it and put it away. The act of writing it in my calendar helps me solidify the date and see it in the scope of things rather than one screen for one day. Rarely to I put appointments in my phone....only if I want a reminder for them...being muy importante.

I also heart pens and pencils of every shape and kind...
